About

It started with some blog posts on health and fitness for busy women. One of these posts was a Daniel Fast meal plan. And that took off…leading to a book, an online community, and much more!

Mission

Our mission is to build up believers individually through the practice of spiritual disciplines and promote unity in the body of Christ through our global fasting community.

The Daniel Fast is one of our key topics and resources. We believe some expression of fasting is beneficial for everyone. Fasting as a Christian spiritual discipline involves setting aside dedicated time to seek the Lord and abstaining from food. Cultivating a personal fasting practice extends beyond a January corporate fast or New Year’s resolution and can transform your body, soul, and spirit.

Our core scripture:

“to equip the saints for works of ministry and to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, as we mature to the full measure of the stature of Christ.”

- Ephesians 4:12-13

Living with Grade 3 Oligodendroglioma

In November 2024, I went to the Emergency Room and discovered through an MRI that I had brain cancer. This was shocking and unexpected, and has resulted in a couple of years of surgery, treatment, monitoring seizures, and recovery. Although there has been a long break and an unknown future, the goal is to always provide material for the fasting community.

A Little About My Story

When people hear that I’m passionate about fitness and health, they often assume I was an athletic child – which was not the case at all! I dreaded gym class because I felt clumsy and uncoordinated, but I always enjoyed being active and outside.

When I was in college, I spent tons of time at The University of Texas at Austin Rec Center. I started participating in Group Fitness classes and became an Instructor in 2004 and a Personal Trainer in 2005. Step aerobics, spinning, boot camp, Zumba, Pilates, yoga…I covered everything that was popular at the time. After college, I pursued a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science. I worked in campus recreation, private gyms, and corporate fitness until I decided to stay home full-time when my first son was born in 2011.

I’ve had many years of commitment to church and ministry. Diving deep into the subject of fasting - particularly Daniel fasting - was something I never saw coming. It was completely directed by the Lord and grew from Daniel Fast to general fasting, and other spiritual disciplines that reward our lives, in the digital age more than ever.

After many years of blogging on the side, the Daniel Fast Journey book was published in December 2020.

In 2023, I completed training with Duke as a Health and Well-being Coach and currently offer online Health & Wellness coaching. This is much more than another diet or exercise plan—holistic coaching is about forming healthy habits that will transform your well-being and accounts for all aspects of your being: body, soul, and spirit.
